Supervision contract
Please read the terms below. You will sign them at the end of the application.
Confidentiality
Information shared in supervision is treated with high confidentiality and is not disclosed to a third party except where the law of Kenya requires it: a threat to life (to self or others); evident abuse or exploitation of a child, an elderly person or a person who is physically challenged or disadvantaged; a court order; or a need to refer you to another professional or on work transfer.
Release of information
Information is released only with your knowledge and written authorisation. Any recorded audio or video in our custody is handled with utmost confidentiality.
Session length and timekeeping
A session lasts at least 45–60 minutes unless both parties agree otherwise. If a session must be missed, start late or be rescheduled, tell the other party at least a day before, and no later than three hours before the scheduled time.
Number of sessions
A minimum of 10 sessions is to be undertaken. Either party may agree to end the sequence if by the fourth session the agreed concerns have not been met, or if a referral is needed.
Fees
Each session costs KES 2,000. A 50% down payment of the total (10 sessions) is paid before the first session, and the balance is paid on a rolling basis and cleared before the termination date.
Refunds
No refund is made if the supervisee fails to honour agreed timelines, does not provide important materials (case notes, audio or video) on time, or abandons the commitment. If the supervisor ends the arrangement, the refund for sessions not yet held is agreed mutually. Transaction charges are paid by the supervisee.
The supervisor will
Conduct sessions on time as agreed; give feedback in the agreed format within 12 hours after each session; provide a safe and reliable venue or platform; review the working alliance and progress after the fourth session and before termination; observe the code of ethics; avoid dual relationships; keep mutual respect and professional boundaries; and use the time to review presented client work and support, educate and guide the supervisee.
The supervisee will
Provide client case notes in the agreed format at least 12 hours before each session; keep time and observe the ethical codes of counselling psychology; pay for and attend all agreed sessions; and raise any concern promptly, without fear of victimisation, if the sessions are not addressing the agreed needs.
